General conditions of use of the Ocean Lovers Surf School
Art. 1 – Commitment of participants in the school’s activities
The adult participant in the activities organized by the Ocean Lovers Surf School certifies that he is medically fit to practice sports and that he can swim a minimum distance of 25m. He also certifies that he has no medical contraindications to surfing.
The legal representative of the minor participant authorizes his child to participate in the activities organized by the Ocean Lovers Surf School. He also certifies that his child is medically fit to practice sports and that he can swim a minimum distance of 25 meters.
By participating in the activities of the Ocean Lovers Surf School, participants accept the risks associated with surfing under normal practice conditions.
The Ocean Lovers Surf School declines its responsibility in the event of forgetfulness, omission and false declaration by the adult participant or legal representative.
Ocean Lovers Surf School declines all responsibility in the event of an accident occurring or caused as a result of physical or medical incapacity and/or failure to comply with the instructor’s instructions.
Each participant is responsible for the equipment made available to them (board, wetsuit, Lycra bib, leash). Any abnormal, abusive or intentional damage will be directly attributed to them by the school.
Art. 2 – Booking and payment conditions
Since the concept of the surf school is a “surf school truck” parked in the car park, all payments must be made “remotely or online” on the website in the “registration” section, via the Lokite booking platform, or by bank transfer, or by sending a bank check by post. The reservation of the chosen formula is valid as soon as the entire online payment has been made.
Art. 3 – How the lessons work
* A surf lesson lasts 2 hours. It begins with the distribution of equipment and includes dressing, time to observe/explain the spot and conditions, the walk to the practice area, the time to slide, the return trip and ends with the delivery of the equipment. The practice time is approximately 1 hour 30.
*IMPORTANT: out of respect for other participants in the group lesson and in order to comply with the school’s schedule, it is requested to respect the schedule and arrive at the truck a few minutes before your lesson. Participants will be taken care of at the start time of the booked lesson.
Art. 4 – The Ocean Lovers Surf School charter
*Safety first
The equipment provided (board, wetsuit, Lycra bib, leash) is in good condition and of good quality. The full suits are of different thicknesses and provided depending on the water temperature and the season.
The marking is systematic. Each student wears a bib in the school colours and a marker flag is placed on the beach and the surfing area.
The weather and surfing conditions are assessed several times a day and systematically at the start of each lesson. The surfing spot is therefore carefully chosen.
Safety instructions are also discussed at each session and, in the event of an emergency, the school is equipped with the necessary and adapted first aid equipment.
*Teaching… a passion
Ocean Lovers Surf School aims to be a “human and family-sized” school. It is committed to welcoming you warmly and with kindness. Sam, a jovial and passionate instructor, is 200% invested and is committed to giving you quality advice to help you progress and access the pleasure of surfing. He will teach you the safety, priority and courtesy rules governing surfing and allowing you to practice in good conditions and in an optimal way.
Facing the ocean, we are all equal and are all invited to respect life in society by accepting our differences with humility and fraternity.
*For “our mother nature”
Ocean Lovers Surf School has chosen to settle in Cap de l’Homy for its wild and preserved natural environment. The Atlantic coast remains a fragile space and therefore, the school is eco-citizen. Since respect for the environment (beaches, dunes, vegetation) is everyone’s business, awareness of good gestures and behaviors will be addressed during the sessions.
Art. 5 – Conditions in the event of a change of schedule, cancellation and refund
*In the event of dangerous and/or unforeseeable weather events (e.g. storm, deterioration of the sandbank, unsuitable waves, pollution, etc.), the school may be forced to unilaterally change the course schedule. In this case, in agreement with the participant, the school will make every effort to reschedule the service initially subscribed to according to the availability of its schedule. In the absence of an agreement, the participant will have the possibility of transforming their service into a credit note valid for one year from the date of reservation in the structure. As a last resort, the participant may request a full refund of the service not provided (excluding Lokite reservation fees). The refund request must therefore be justified and sent by email to contact@oceanlovers.fr.
*In the event of the participant’s absence from a course, no refund from the school will be possible except in the event of a medical contraindication or the death of a family member. A minimum notice period of 24 hours must be respected for the smooth running of the school’s schedule and the refund request must be justified and sent by email to contact@oceanlovers.fr. The school will then proceed with the refund (excluding Lokite fees) upon receipt of the RIB.
*In the event of cancellation of courses by the school due to force majeure and lasting, the school will proceed with the refund of the courses (excluding Lokite fees) to each participant.
*The school reserves the right to refuse an adult participant to a course if it judges that his condition or behavior compromises his safety or that of the group and hinders the notions of respect and goodwill of community life.
In this specific case, no refund from the school will be possible.
Art. 6 – Insurance and liability
* The legal guardian of the minor participant is required to ensure that the lessons take place before entrusting their child to the school’s instructor.
Minor participants are under the responsibility of the instructors during the lesson times defined and communicated in advance.
* All persons participating in the activity offered by the school will benefit from Civil Liability, Personal Accident, Assistance and Recourse guarantees, the terms of which are described in the Allianz contract n°61901784 made available by the structure. However, the Ocean Lovers Surf School draws the attention of each participant to their interest in taking out, with the insurer of their choice, a personal insurance contract covering bodily injury to which the sporting practice may expose them and whose guarantees would be superior to those of the Allianz contract.
Art. 7 – Image rights
By registering, you agree to use the photos and/or films of your image taken during your internship, for the production of all advertising documents, without financial compensation.
